The Gnosis Auditable Database creates an audit trail of all transaction insert, update and delete statements and records by whom and when the changes were made.

A Gnosis Auditable Database is able to transform the viewing of the database for the user, back to any historical date and time, and view the database as it was at that historical date and time, while other users remain unaffected.

A technology known as the Gnosis Temporal Index enables the viewing of the database at an historical point in time to greatly reduce the number of rows required to be retrieved, and thus enable an historical picture to be created.

The Gnosis Auditable Database provides abilities that facilitate the finding and investigating of historical transactions, enabling historical transactions to be identified for a specific user, time period and object, and then examined in the context in which they were made.

The Gnosis Business Rule Manager is the definition application for a Gnosis Auditable Database. It is here that the database schema, data integrity and business rules are defined. The Gnosis Business Rule Manager also checks the definition of the data model and generates the database objects such as tables, views and stored procedures.

An Auditable database can be constructed from an existing database schema, using the Migrate Database capabilities of the Gnosis Business Rule Manager.
