Gnosis Work Manager. T he Gnosis Work Manager provides an interface to investigate historical transactions, that can find historical transactions and change the viewing of the database (for the user), to be at an historical date and time. An overview of this interface is described below.

Show as at Historic Date & Time. A Gnosis Auditable database can be viewed as it was at any historical date and time. Thus a suspicuous Transaction can be investigated exactly in the context it was made. All operations on the database remain uninterrupted, as the historical View of the database only applies to the specific user who has requested it. |

This screen shot shows the Gnosis Work Managers ability to set the users view to be any historical date and time. Conversely the Users view can be set back to Current should it be required.
Note: A Gnosis Auditable database can be viewed at many different historical dates and times, by many users symulataneously. Such historical investigations do not affect normal operations on the database, that are being made to the Current (on-line) dataset by data operators and normal business users. |

The Gnosis Work Manager can be used to find historical transactions by the Committing User and by Schema Objects that were changed in the Transaction. In the screen shot shown the system has found one transaction and the database has been set historically to be viewed at exactly when this transaction occured. |

The Gnosis Work Manager is able to browse the contents of an historical transaction and display a listing of objects that were changed. In this case one Transformer object was changed by the historical transaction and the business key to the object is displayed. |

Other Applications and Query Analysis Tools. When the database view is set to an historic point in time, existing Applications (run in read only mode) and query analysis tools can be used to make investigations. |

History of Changes. When in the context of an object-instance of a Business Entity, a history of changes can be viewed, which is in the case below obtained from the results of a generated stored procedure. |

The form listing shown is taken from the Equipment Manager evaluation program, and displays all changes to the object-instance (or any part of the object-instance) currently being viewed from the main form.

Gnosis Business Rule Manager. The Gnosis Business Rule Manager is the definition application for a Gnosis Auditable Database. It is here that the database schema, data integrity and business rules are defined. The Gnosis Business Rule Manager checks the definition of the data model and generates the database objects such as sql tables, views and stored procedures.
An Auditable Database requires definitions of where audit data is to be stored which are called Audit Archives, and these are defined using the Gnosis Business Rule Manager. |
